Trust the Potter

McKnightEnterprises.org

As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. Leadership has gone crazy! We are electing politicians who have no idea how to handle the problems or the people, or maybe they just don’t care. We are looking to those who are supposed to have the answers but don't have them. Laws are made and then reversed or broken. Some get caught, others get away. Where are the righteous judges who will follow God … not fame or fortune?

In Bible days, when it was King Solomon’s turn to lead, he did not ask God for riches … he asked God to give him the wisdom to lead. People are looking for safe places for help and healing. They are looking for leaders with the right solutions to what is going on today. Leaders with heart, leaders with God's heart.

What do you do when you put yourself in the hands of those who are supposed to heal you and they wind up hurting you? Jeremiah talks about being marred in the potter’s hands:

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. (Jeremiah 18:4)

The specialists sometimes fail us. Sad to say, this is happening even in the Church. Many people come to the house of God looking for healing but instead, they were violated by someone in authority. Some come broken, some come looking for answers … they were disappointed by those who used their authority to abuse the vulnerable seeker.

Jeremiah reminds us who created us and who we will have to return to fix our cracks and broken places regardless of where we got hurt. Even in the Master's House things happen but He doesn't fret. He knows exactly how to make you whole again. Trust in His process. Trust the potter who made you from earthen clay.
