Painful experiences happen.
Imagine someone who has been injured in a terrible accident. Even though the accident may be over, the scar or broken bones may not have healed quite right. The wound or broken bones may become a constant reminder of something they wish to forget.
In life, we all have endured something we wish we could forget, but for some reason, the memory won’t go away. Maybe God wants you to remember it so he can use your experience to help others.
For some people, their tragic, painful experience launched them into purpose. Because of their brush with tragedy, ministries were born, organizations formed, and bills were passed in the Senate to help the next person have an easier transition through their troubled times.
We must not internalize or run from our pain, but identify it and deal with it, allowing it to work for our good and the good of others.
I pray you find the purpose in your pain. God knows it will happen to both good and bad people. The greatest Comforter ever, The Holy Spirit, will teach us as we are being healed of the tragic, painful events in life.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
