When dealing with people, personal injuries will happen. There’s no getting around people! Jesus knew many people and had many friends. There were those who ate with Him, slept where He slept, walked with Him, talked with Him, and were up close and personal. They saw His secrets. They saw Him naked. Yet in His hour of need, no one stood with Him. That had to hurt Him. Those who had said that they’d die for Him were over in a corner cursing saying they didn’t know Him.
Now, if Jesus can survive personal injuries, we can too. He was and still is our perfect example of the forgiveness that will lead to our healing. If you don’t allow bitterness to destroy or distract you, you too will be able to take up your cross (purpose) and despite the wounds, still do it all for the glory of God.
We must use the life of Jesus as the map to lead us to our God-given purpose. He came in human form, yet He was divine. He wanted to feel everything we feel so He could fulfill His purpose. He is a classic example of One who was rejected from His birth, yet He remained faithful to God despite all the hurt and rejection He suffered from His family, to His disciples, to the Church. Jesus remained faithful to God. Jesus saw His purpose from the beginning to the end and He purposed to finish His course.
When you feel attacked or injured, purposely or accidentally, keep heart knowing Jesus did as well on all sides. Don't stay down when knocked down. Get up! Keep living! Feel the pain and use it as fuel! Use the pain as a tool to build yourself back up bigger and better! Let the Healing begin!
