Change Starts With a Choice

McKnightEnterprises.org

It all starts with a decision to no longer be entangled by bondage.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

What is bondage? Slavery, physical restraints, mental restraints, anything that limits your freedom. Bondage can be people, places, things, finances, debt, oppression. Bondage can be physical walls, mental walls. Bondage can be addictions. Bondage can be anything that inflicts stress. Bondage can be anything that stops or hinders you from freely doing what you need to do.

How do you get out? The same way you got in … choose to change.

Years ago, a very talented singer died from her addictions when she was only 28 years old. She became famous from a song she sang about rehab. Her name was Amy Winehouse. Some of the words of the song are …

They tried to make me go to rehab I said no, no, no. My daddy thinks I am fine, I don’t have the time, I can’t go, go, go.

She chose not to go to make the change. Her future and purpose were lost because of her decision not to choose her freedom. Her parents or family could not make her choose her freedom.

What happened? How did you get here? By a choice … by a decision. Your choice to be … to do … to live that way.

It’s your job to fulfill your purpose. It’s time to decide to clean up your life and get back on track.
