And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. (Luke 1: 41-45)
Elizabeth's baby did not move for months … until Mary, Jesus' mother, showed up with her miraculous conception. It was only then that Elizabeth felt her son move after being barren for years. Yet, she believed and held on to her promise despite no movement. We are still talking about this … the processing of the promise.
Blessed is she that believed for there shall be a performance!!
As a playwright who understands rehearsals to prepare one for the performance of a stage play, may I interject? Some leading ladies and men must know their lines verbatim for those following to be able to come in and do their part on cue. If words are twisted or missed and the play is not processed as written, timing, lines, actors, music lighting, and anyone connected to the presentation will be thrown off cue. The director has given the actors directions, but the director cannot give directions again once the play has begun … only to the crew behind the scenes. If you are on stage and drop your lines … heaven help us all! This is why you must pray and rehearse your lines as if you are going on stage so you will know God's cues and when to move and what to say in the right season. The Holy Spirit told Mary to go to Elizabeth’s house. Mary did … her obedience gave Elizabeth’s child a jump start!
So, study your lines. Meditate on His words and get ready to hit center stage for the performance. That is another word for public presentation, a showing, a production, or an action, function, and process. It doesn't matter the stage you are in or on. You will still have to believe God for the performance of what you have been rehearsing! Curtains up!
Rise and shine, thy light has come. (Isaiah 60:1)
